I joined CICC in April, 2014, and feel pleasure in posting an article of newsletter TOKYO DAYORI for the first time.  I was involved in a study and promotion to leverage ICT to address the issues in Super-Aging Society of Japan for 2 years before joining CICC.  Taking this opportunity, I would like to introduce some of activities going on in

The Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (WCDRR) will be held from 14 to 18 March 2015 in Sendai City, Japan.[1] To consider and adopt the post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction, several thousand participants are expected, including high level participants from Governments, International Organizations, NGOs, private sector and other major group representatives.

I saw many foreign tourists among Japanese tourists and commuters in
Tokyo Station this morning, too. I found more foreign tourists visited
here than last year.

Social Media and Socialytics

Social Media Penetration in Taiwan is 64%, which is No. 1 in APAC, followed by Brunei with 63%, Hong Kong with 61%, Singapore with 59%, Malaysia with 53% and APAC (Asia-Pacific region) average is 25%. The rate in Japan is 17%. These rates are based on the total number of social media users across the top social network in each nation in accordance with the report “Social, Digital & Mobile in APAC in 2014”issued on the site of “We Are Social”.  The top social network in these nations, except for Japan, is Facebook.

How Japan has changed by Abenomics?

 Shinzo Abe, Japanese prime minister, has strongly appealed to change the whole economic structure and end two decades of deflation and stagnation in Japan. Compared to one year ago, the current stock market rose around 60% and the yen a 25% fall. unemployment fell and GDP growth went up.
